The Wildfowl and Wetland Trust

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is a UK based conservation charity which focuses on the protection of our native wetlands which play a vital role in our lives.

In addition to being the primary source of drinking water for both people and wildlife, our wetlands allow us to reconnect with nature through their world class visitor centres throughout the UK.

The WWT has visitor centres at

  • Arundel
  • Caerlaverock
  • Castle Espie
  • Llanelli
  • London
  • Martin Mere
  • Slimbridge
  • Steart
  • Washington
  • Welney

All 9 of the visitor centres fully water for people with special accessibility requirements.

The WWT also provides some printable online resources to aid the learning process at  and it is worth remembering that you can receive a 15% discount on entry if you are visiting with a group of 12 or more.

You can learn more about The Wildfowl and Wetland Trust at their website.

Of course, it is free for Little Landowners to visit Alba Wood, which is located within the Highland Titles Nature Reserve near Duror in the Highlands of Scotland. There, the little Lords and Ladies of Alba Wood can locate their very own plot of land and explore the nature reserve which includes the Salachan Burn and a 3-acre lochan which is overlooked by 2 purpose-built viewing huts.
